Keith helped defeat two major planning appeals early in 2024 when, unusually, he was on the same side as the Borough Council. It had refused massive  planning applications for housing developments west of Weddington trail and north of Top Farm on the last fields south of the A5. As outgoing councillor, with 12 years experience, Keith spoke with passion on the problems developing  further  out into countryside would produce. Planning inspectors rejected both planning appeals as well as one at Poplars Farm, off The Long Shoot. Sadly, the new incoming government is destroying our ability to oppose excessive development and already there has been a new application for the land south of A5.

We have other applications on which residents may wish to comment, the most controversial is a plan to double the size of Higham Lane post office with a larger building including a “House of Multiple Occupancy” for 15 individuals.  The application can be viewed on the  Borough Council website under number 040698 and comments can still be emailed to planning@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk

bookmark_borderHow hard is to build a bus stop?

Nine years ago, County Council highways officers had a meeting to plan new bus stops on Weddington Road serving the Barratts and Davidsons developments. The County Council provided a stop by Topiary Road, for services going into town, but not one for people coming back. When he was still the County Councillor, Keith Kondakor, asked for this to be sorted out and had a site visit before the 2021 County Council election.  Since then Keith has kept pushing, but so far we have only got as far as a pole on the far side of a ditch. We have finally been told that hard standing and crossing of the ditch has been ordered!
